I made an important distinction recently – I’m NOT a hamster. Well obviously, but not too long ago while closing up the Chrysalis after a busy day and finishing a project, I began automatically making a mental list of all the numerous tasks that I still wanted to complete. The list was long. Just thinking about it all felt exhausting. Feel familiar? Halfway through my list, some kind of Wisdom came over me. “STOP. WAIT… Could you just stop for a second here? Do you realize what you have done this summer? Could we just take that in for a hot minute before we move on?”
I sat down on a chair in the waiting room and realized that among other things, I had completed a Certification in Nutritional Counseling, was about to complete a Digestive Health Professional training and sit for the certifying exam, made some important business-related decisions, done some brand-tweaking, redesigned and printed all of our collateral materials and reworked our website with the developer so it could be upgraded. Wow. No wonder I was a bit fatigued. Then I came across this wonderful article by Casey Erin Wood who outlines 5 reasons to celebrate ourselves. Can you relate? When was the last time you stopped to celebrate anything that you’ve accomplished? Yeah, me too.
So in the interest of getting off the hamster wheel and really enjoying the journey, I’d like you to come celebrate Fall, the “harvest”, finishing something, starting something new, letting something go, taking a chance, landing on your feet, getting out of bed, running a race, cleaning the house, saying “no”, saying “yes”, making a different choice, eating something new, deciding to be happy or deciding that you are enough. Let’s celebrate – all of it. Saturday November 7th from 2 – 6pm in the Chrysalis. Oh by the way, it’s also our 10th anniversary. Let’s celebrate that too!
